The Transport Workers Union is devoted to protecting the rights of workers in Transport industries.

The TWU covers members in Aviation, Passenger Transport, Local Government, Waste, Cash in Trasnit and Oil and Gas.

The TWU has a long history in Queensland dating back to the 1900's and was orginally formed as a draymans union. Over the years the TWU has earned a reputation for standing strong in the face of strong opposition from employers.

In 2010 Peter Biagini, a long term employee in the Transport Industry and former TWU QLD organiser, was elected as Sate Secretary of the Union.
