TRUCKIES ON THE LOOKOUT FOR CHEAP FUELThe Transport Workers' Union Queensland is urging local truck drivers to shop around for the best petrol prices. As of midnight last night Queensland's fuel subsidy ceased allowing Queensland Petrol Stations to increase their prices. TWU Branch Secretary Hughie Williams said, "Queensland truck drivers should not accept the increase and should shop around for the best petrol prices." Mr Williams said, "Truck drivers should avoid paying for petrol that is above the 8.3 cent subsidy benefit." The TWU also urges local truck drivers to name and shame (Dob in the Fuel Cheats) to the TWU Office on (07) 3890 3066 or Toll Free 1800 804 533. Mr Williams said, "Queensland truck drivers need to make a living and the TWU won't stand for truck drivers being ripped off at the bowser." |
