For years now the Secretary of the TWU, Hughie Williams has encouraged those in the transport industry to Dob-A-Boss.  The reasons for starting this campaign quite some time ago is due to many drivers being forced to drive illegal hours.  Some drivers have contacted me on numerous occasions saying that they have taken stimulants which are provided by the boss, to ensure that they do these terrible and dangerous illegal hours.

Any worker, particularly long distance drivers, who have to work long illegal and dangerous hours because the boss wants his freight delivered quickly to make more money, is putting his life and that of other road users at risk.

Many truckies who ring Hughie Williams with information never identify themselves as the matter is conducted in the strictest confidence and no boss ever knows the source of the information.

In the interests of safety and the well being of drivers and their families we must work together to stop the unnecessary road carnage in the transport industry.
