Why? - 73% of the 106 Queensland drivers surveyed say their NOT being paid for their waiting time. Meaning Owner Drivers are being forced to make a return journey without resting, putting their lives and the lives of every other road user at risk. -The majority of drivers surveyed say their spending 19 hours per week unpaid waiting time and some drivers are spending 40-50 hours per week. Meaning Owner Drivers are missing out on valuable income. Who Should foot the bill? Its time clients and major retailers were responsible for the safety of truck drivers. - Under the Chain of Responsibility Legislation the client needs to pay the transport company, who in turn can compensate the driver.
