Easter campaign
DRIVE SAFELY around HEAVY VEHICLES this EASTER

The QLD TWU is calling on motorists to respect and drive safely around heavy vehicles this Easter long weekend.

The call comes with 26 people killed in heavy vehicle accidents so far this year, 17 more than this time last year.

TWU Branch Secretary Hughie Williams says, "There will be plenty of trucks on QLD roads this Easter and motorists need to be careful when overtaking them and avoid slamming on their breaks in front of trucks otherwise accidents will occur."

Mr Williams says, "Truck drivers also need to play their part this Easter and not drive illegal hours or fatigued as deadlines aren't worth it."

The TWU along with QLD Police is campaigning for a fatality free Easter.
