TWU BAGGAGE HANDLERS OWED PUBLIC APOLOGYThe QLD Transport Workers Union is demanding a public apology from Schapelle Corby's legal defence team. In a film shown on Channel Nine last night, Corby's former defence lawyer, Robin Tampoe admitted that he made up the claim that Australian baggage handlers were responsible for planting marijuana in her boogie board bag. Branch Secretary Hughie Williams says, "Australian baggage handlers deserve a proper apology from Mr Tampoe, who put their work in disrepute." Mr Williams says, "Due to Mr Tampoe's claim, passengers lost their trust in Australian baggage handlers." The TWU would like to see Mr Tampoe publicly apologise to Australian baggage handlers especially the baggage handlers at Brisbane Airport, where Schapelle Corby's bags departed from. |
