In last weeks negotiations your team introduced Matthew Rocks – TWU National Aviation Coordinator to head up your negotiation team.
Matt brings a successful history of cutting edge agreements for TWU members in Virgin, Jetstar, Alpha and will invaluable for your campaign.
As for the negotiations, the company had said it wanted to meet to present another offer to crew.
This offer can be best described as the same, but with the addition of another $500 in sign on bonus to $1000.
It reads as follows:
- 11 hour day rosters to be introduced.
- 28 day rosters in the agreement, no pay cycle change, no notice period of implementation and ordinary pay for additional rostered hours if worked.
- New crew (Altara) to be at $42,000, no progression to grades 2/3/4/5.
- In return – $1000 sign on bonus and CPI wage and allowance escalation.
Whilst this is a slight improvement it does not address the low standards of remuneration and conditions, keep you up with other crew agreements, or address the significant productivity improvements the company has in this agreement.
Matt’s National Office Team are now working on new Comms with a full delegates and officials phone hook up scheduled for next Friday 3:30pm.
Please forward to all crew and discuss getting a fairer deal with non members.
